The previous website relied on a closed builder provided by the hosting company. Although such solutions tempt with simplicity, in practice, they severely tied the company’s hands, posing a risk to its growth.

What exactly was holding the client back?

• Lack of flexibility and technological lock-in: The editor was highly simplistic and limited. It lacked plugins, attractive content blocks, and advanced styling options, leaving the team without the freedom to build engaging content.
• Unappealing design and loss of credibility: Due to its rigid format, the entire site simply looked unattractive and outdated. This reduced its competitiveness, directly and negatively impacting the brand’s professional image.
• Severely limited SEO: Search engine optimization existed in theory, but was poor in practice. The team had minimal control over technical SEO, such as meta description settings which were heavily restricted, and had to rely almost entirely on content alone.

Instead of trying to “revive” the old system or looking for half-measures, we proposed a bold move: building a completely new website from scratch. We opted for a proven and, most importantly, open-source solution: WordPress with the native Gutenberg editor and a modern, fully responsive theme.
